What is a 90-day challenge for Christian men?
A 90-day challenge for Christian men is a daily commitment, kept for roughly three months, to read Scripture, pray and do one physical or practical hard thing. Ninety days is long enough to outlast the first-week buzz and the week-three slump, and short enough to see the finish line from day one.
Most versions share three parts: something for the body, something for the mind (the Bible), and something for the spirit (prayer and quiet). Some add a group of brothers and a weekly check-in. The free planner further down gives you dates, passages and a tracker you can print tonight.
Ninety days, three small things a day, and a plan for the days you miss.
Honest limits of a 90-day plan
Ninety days is a good container, not a magic number. In the habit study most people quote, run at University College London and published in the European Journal of Social Psychology in 2010, the average time for a new daily behavior to feel automatic was 66 days, and individual estimates ran from 18 to 254 days. Some men will need longer than 90.
The same research team reported, in UCL's 2009 summary, that missing one opportunity did not significantly set back the habit. Very inconsistent participants did not form one. So the plan below is built around restarting the next morning, not around a perfect streak.
- The body challenge is a devotional practice, not a fitness program. The CDC's adult guidelines call for 150 minutes of moderate activity a week plus two days of muscle strengthening; a 10-minute walk is a start, not the whole job.
- If you have a medical condition or an injury, talk to your doctor before you add the Challenging level.
- In FORGED, Day 1 is free. Days 2 to 90 are part of Premium. The printable plan on this page is free and stays free.
Plan for a miss, not for a perfect streak.

Day 23, the usual wall
Picture a man who has started three of these before. The first week is easy because it is new. Week two is fine. Somewhere around day 20 a work trip, a sick kid or one late night breaks the chain, and the old voice says the whole thing is ruined, so why bother.
That is the moment this plan is designed for. The next morning he opens the printed sheet, sees 22 boxes already marked, writes "missed" in box 23 and does box 24. Proverbs 24:16 in the World English Bible puts it plainly:
“for a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again”Proverbs 24:16, World English Bible
FORGED was built on the same idea: missed days never erase the stones you have already set, and the occasional Grace Day can be earned from the daily Forge Chest.
Day 23 is a box to mark, not a verdict.
Who should pick something else
- Catholic men who want a group-based ascetic program. Exodus 90 is a Catholic 90-day program built on prayer, asceticism and fraternity, with a weekly group of four to six men. FORGED is a personal daily routine, not a fraternity structure.
- Men who want a full workout plan. FORGED's body challenge is one small daily task with Gentle, Standard and Challenging options. Pair it with a proper training program if fitness is your main goal.
- Men who only want to read the whole Bible in a year. FORGED explains one passage a day. A straight-through reading plan will cover more chapters.
Pick the plan you will keep, even if it is not ours.

How the challenge works in 3 steps
Read one passage
FORGED gives you one passage a day in the World English Bible, explained in plain English, with Quick Read, Go Deeper and Original Passage views and one action for the day.
Do one hard thing
Choose Gentle, Standard or Challenging. Not up for exercise? A mobility alternative or an act of service counts too.
Sit in silence
Pray with a 3, 5 or 10-minute timer. Keep all three pillars and you set a stone in your Bastion, with Armor of God milestones at Day 7, Day 35 and Day 90.
One design decision we argued about: rewards stay silent during prayer. The streak flame and Forge Chest exist to bring you back tomorrow, but nothing buzzes or scores while you are praying.
Read, do, pray: about ten minutes, then get on with your day.
